AUDITIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR ABT'S 2018 ORIGINAL PRODUCTION

KILLER GIRLS (WORKING TITLE)

WRITTEN/DIRECTED BY KACI BEELER

INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING? FILL OUT THIS FORM.

Here's the tentative plot synopsis:

Dora Márquez (TV cartoon star Dora the Explorer), Skipper Roberts (Barbie’s younger sister), Mallory Pike (Junior Member of the Babysitter’s Club), and Addy Walker (An original American Girl/American Girl Doll) are all students at John Wilkes Booth University in #yesallmen, Texas.

The four women make up the only members of the JWBU (“jew-boo”) Fruit Ninja team, the first all-lady club the historically male college has ever had. “Is Fruit Ninja even a thing anymore?”, you might ask. Barely, would be the answer. Still, the club is a place where the women bond and blow off steam, despite the daily jeers and jests from the university’s usual hoard of jocks, nerds, gamers, and negging pick up artists. The quartet is used to constantly being questioned, pushed, and prodded as female identifying humans living in #yesallmen, but it’s when they take a trip to the National Fruit Ninja Tournament in #grabherbythepussy, Florida that things really take a turn.

Part live action cartoon, part pop music video, this female revenge horror holds nothing back while going on a wild and sadistic ride to new cathartic heights.

Next, let's talk dates and production details:

The anticipation production dates are between April and May of 2018, and we'll begin working on the play in November of 2017.

Here is the rough outline of the total time commitment:

One rehearsal per week through November and December
Two rehearsals per week in January and February
Three rehearsals per week in March and April
In the three or so weeks leading up to the show, around four to five rehearsals per week, including a six-day tech week

ROLES:

We are seeking four femme-identifying or GNC actors to play women, and four male-identifying or GNC actors to play men. Our rehearsal process will include improvising in character/in world to generate ideas for the script that Kaci is in the process of writing. The final product will be a SCRIPTED play (around 70 min in length).

All roles are paid.

Auditions will consist of cold/prepared reads (scripts provided in advance) and improv. We are looking for dynamic improviser/actors comfortable with devising new work. Additionally, we are seeking actors who:

•    have a good sense of comedy
•    can take direction well
•    can work collaboratively to generate new material
•    are comfortable with movement and stage combat

PLEASE ALSO BE ADVISED: this play will fall well into the R-rated category. Actors should be comfortable with subject matter that contains and/or references extreme violence, blood and gore, and sexual assault/violence.

So! If you're down, please fill out the form and please contact Director/Playwright Kaci Beeler at kacibeeler@gmail.com if you have any questions.
